Infant Death

(By Andrea) I know this is not what you "normally" think about for an anniversary, however, for anyone that has lost a child I believe it is important to have some sort of a tradition for this.  We lost our 2 1/2 month old baby girl Vanessa in 2009.  It was a difficult time, but we wouldn't change anything about that experience.  There was happy and sad memories throughout the entire experience.  On the anniversary of her death we take our children to each buy a helium balloon and some flowers of their choice.  We go out to the cemetery and take a picture of "all our children" together, place the flowers, cry, and release our balloons.  Afterwards we talk about happy memories we have of Vanessa on our way to dinner and a fun activity.
