DAILY Traditions....are those traditions that you do every day with your family. Sometimes we don't think about them being traditions because they are just part of our "normal" routine.
(By Rosemarie) The other tradition I wanted to share is a new one that we did for fun one night, and it stuck. For dinner, we like to listen to the genre of music, according to the food we're having. So lasagna gets Italian music, Hawaiian haystacks we listen to island music...etc.
We use pandora so we just look up the music we want and it plays a good variety. The kids love it!
(By Wendi) My husband and I have a lot of fun traditions we do with our kids. However, some of the most special traditions are now part of our daily routine, and are just between the two of us. My favorite is the 15 second kiss ❤️ We make it a point to give each other a good, solid, keep us connected, kiss every single day!
(By Rebecca) My husband and I, We also have a tradition of kissing before either of us leave the house and upon returning at any time. We get in trouble with the other if it is ever forgotten.

Family Cheer
(By Ruth) As a recent daily tradition we have started doing our family cheer after family scripture reading and prayer in the evening. My children are all young right now and they get a kick out of it. I feel like it has brought some positive energy and unity to our family.
Gratitude Journal
(By Brittany) We keep a family gratitude journal. Every morning at breakfast, we go around the table and say one thing that we are grateful for. We aren’t allowed to repeat what anyone else has said. It has been fun to look back and see our growth and the daily record of what we are up to in life!! During this time we also read from the Book of Mormon, memorize something (a scripture, poem, The Living Christ, etc) and I read the kids a poem.
Scriptures
SCRIPTURE POWER *By Anonymous) Another daily ritual or tradition is that I read The Book of Mormon to the kids at the kitchen table while we eat breakfast. on days/morning that we forget & things get crazy, i point out to the kids that we haven't received our scripture power & how that helps us be happy & choose to get along. there have been days where my oldest who is almost 6 reminds we that we haven't had our 'scripture power' yet.
Meet & Greet
(By Bryn) "Meet and Great" When my husband leaves for work we walk him out. My 2 year old son, likes to wave Bye Bye and blow him kisses. He wants to watch till his truck is out of site. We also do this when his Nana comes for a visit. I didn't know how important it was to him till one night I told him it was to late, he had a melt down until we did the walk out. I understand now it had become a tradition to him, and very important.
Morning Routine
(By Anonymous): A morning routine we have revolves around scriptures and hymns. Years ago I added hymns to our a.m. routine. We begin by singing a hymn together. We sing the same hymn for the entire week. My kids know many of the hymns by heart now because of this tradition. Every person in the family has an assigned day to pray and begin the scripture readings. Following scriptures, we say the Pledge of Allegiance. On Mondays we conclude by singing the National Anthem as well. We feel great unity in our family through this tradition.
Reading
(By Jen)
A daily tradition of ours is that I spend a little (or a lot) of time reading stories to my girls in their rooms & visiting with them if they have stuff they want to talk about. They always ask about what we are doing the next day. Sometimes it is the only time of day when we get to spend quality happy time together; especially those days when I have been grouchy & stressed. We all treasure that time together & the girls have a really hard time when I don't do it. My husband has started doing it with them too when I am gone for the evening.

Expressions of Love
(By Anonymous)
We have a house full of girls and sometimes they all struggle to focus on the positive traits and characteristics in each other. In an effort to fill our home with more love and harmony, we have started a daily tradition we call the "Celestial Seat". Each night of the week a different family members gets the honor of sitting in the "celestial seat" at dinner time. (This isn't actually a physical seat) Before we say the blessing on the food, we each take the opportunity to say one thing that we love about the "Celestial Seat" family member. It is interesting how this tradition brings to mind the little things that we love about each other, and yet, assists us in digging deep to recognize admirable characteristics in each individual.

Article of Faith
By Lea)
We have family prayer and scripture story at night, so every morning before we leave we read and talk about an Article of Faith (a new one every week) then pray.
I love that my children (5 and 2) are getting exposed to the words of the Articles of Faith so early, everyday and they are able to talk about it and ask questions as needed. It helps my husband and I as well; we learn to say the Articles of Faith word for word and answer questions about it. Definitely preparation for missionary work!

Rose
(By Laura)
We have done this fun family tradition for years now. At dinner time each night, we all go around the table and tell each other what our "rose" and our "thorn" was for the day. A rose is described as anything in the one persons day that was a positive or exciting moment. A thorn is described as something that happened that wasn't so pleasant. This helps the kids to feel a sense of belonging and compassion and that we all care about whats happening in each others day. If that person had an especially bad "thorn", we are able to talk about how we as a family we can help them and also keep them in our prayers.
