I loved this class! We have a blended family, been together for 5 years. It has been an amazingly difficult but rewarding experience! Both of our ex's are not active in the church anymore. My husband's ex has made sure that his children don't want anything to do with the church. (it is amazing how much influence a mother has no matter how much time they spend with her) Family home evening has been very difficult in our home! We want to have it, but have 3 children that don't want to do anything with anything religious. So I felt that the others have suffered and were missing out on something essential! Yet, we did not want to have something that divided us as a family when it was hard enough blending together! After this class happened to be my husband's ex's weekend and we decided to have FHE with the 4 kids at home. I took the problem to them. I bore testimony to them how important it was, but that we wanted a united family and didn't want to not exclude anyone. I wanted to know what they thought we should do with something we struggled with. The response was incredible! They wanted to have FHE! So, it was decided that on the weekends that they are at their mom's we will do the spiritual lessons, and on the weekends they are here we will do a fun activity.
