Post a Comment...Incentive...

Sister Tanner would like to see all the class members who are attending the live class or any one that is following the blog to start using the comments to share experiences with each other.  She would like to see a 'discussion' board happening with other members contributing answers and helping to answer questions as well as give ideas of things that worked and didn't work in their family.

As an incentive...each week for the next 8 weeks....ANYONE who posts a comment or replies to a comment will have their name added to a drawing for a free CD from Sister Tanner (your choice which one).  Your name will go into the drawing for each time you post a comment.

You may post a comment at any time.   Once the comment has been approved it will appear on the website.  Entries will only be taken until 8pm on Wednesday night (the night before class).  The winner will be announced the following day in class.  If you are not attending the live class the CD will be mailed to you.

Thanks!  Andrea Hansen

Here I am- commenting like I've been asked to do!! I was so grateful for today's lesson. It was just what I needed to hear. I came away with more confidence that I can teach my kids the importance of prayer and scripture study because I have a clearer vision of why it is important to do so and why it is vital in our lives and to teach to our kids that it is important and essential. I have been doing all the legs of the table but not to the degree I should be, and I was inspired today and felt the need to do more and that I felt I can do more. Tonight we read scriptures with more purpose and I taught and elaborated about what we read about. Tonight I asked my children if they are saying their prayers morning and night and I taught them the importance of doing so. And I taught them to make sure they are doing it on their knees. Just little things but I feel like I was teaching them with purpose that it is important to do these little things. And I'm so excited to implement these in our everyday lives. I also gave my 3 year old her own set of scriptures and she was sooo excited!!! I even taught her how to mark them! She held them close to her and was so excited for her own set that she didn't have to share with her older siblings! Ha! Today's lesson helped me have more hope and faith that what I am doing is good but I can do more and I am excited to do it!

There- I commented! Go me! :)

Thank you for asking us to read Elder Scott's talk. I had read it right after conference and I remember thinking it was a wonderful talk. But as I read, studied, and pondered it last night, I found that there are many things I can do to make changes in how my family prays, reads the scriptures, does FHE and goes to the temple. I am excited to implement these changes

I decided to get up 15 minutes earlier this week to try reading my scriptures in the morning instead of right before going to bed.Today after reading my scriptures I had an impression with an idea of what to do for family home evening. Tonight I had the lesson and I had my little boys (ages 4 and 18 mos) put on 4 different pieces of armor that represented: FHE, Scripture Study, Daily Prayers, and Temple attendance. Then they had to shield themselves from our Nerf gun darts which were supposed to be temptations and the adversary's influence...It turned into a fun Nerf gun fight and even our little 18 month old was giggling the whole entire time. We talked about the blessing and protection we can have in our family by doing these four things and how important it is to do them with exactness and real intent. I printed a little boy wearing his armor labeled with what we talked about today and hung it in their bathroom so they can see if every day. We all were assigned one of the legs of the table for February's family home evening lessons and each are going to prepare a lesson around that topic for their given week.I don't think I would have received that revelation and clear idea if I hadn't been reading my scriptures this morning before kids woke up. I usually throw something together like 10 minutes before family home evening and tonight we had a real plan with inspiration and we all had so much fun. Thanks for the inspirations!

I really loved the comment made in class last Thursday about the prayer bears. I was excited because I had some gummy bears and started the prayer bears with my boys the very next morning. They are very excited to have a prayer bear each morning after prayers are said.
Thank you to the sister who shared this fun idea. Its such a simple way to remind and teach my boys about prayer.

Is there a link where I can download a copy of the Color Code Test? I found one online but would love to have paper copies for all my kids and my hubby and I.
