Summer is almost over. There is energy in the air as we get ready for the new start of another school year. I love this time of year as fall approachs with it's colored leaves and crisp apples. I am counting days until I can go and watch my grandchildren in their sports activities. This time of year, maybe more that January is a time of new beginning for me. I like to make new goals and recommit to scripture reading, meaningful personal prayers and taking walks. I know that after a summer of little ones around, it becomes a time of regaining some order and more structured schedules.
This is also a wonderful time to have fathers give blessings to the children returning to school. In the hustle of getting pencils, paper, clothes, and notebooks, don't forget to take the time to give encouragement one-on-one to each child. Help them recommit to being an example for good and reaching out to the new child in the class.
With the new school year, we will also be starting our Parenting class up again. It will begin on September 12. Andrea will be posting the details on the blog. Hope to see you all then. Enjoy these last few days of summer with your children. These are treasured moments. Sister Tanner
